Our dentistry facilities at John Ickowicz D.D.S. are designed to meet the unique needs of children. We are trained to guide your child toward a lifetime of optimal oral health. Based upon your child’s evaluation, we’ll do our best to concentrate on the health of the gums and teeth.
As members of the American Dental Association we are prepared to recognize and treat children’s dental problems (from infancy to adolescence). We are trained to work with a broad range of dental problems that are common to developing mouths.
Dental Sealant
Dental sealants are plastic resin coatings used to fill the narrow grooves in teeth to prevent tooth decay. They work most effectively on the chewing surfaces of the back teeth where there are more hard-to-reach pits. Dental sealants help prevent decay because they protect the enamel from plaque and acids.
Usually children are the most common recipient of dental sealants because newly erupted permanent teeth are not as resistant to decay as adult teeth are. However, adults too can benefit this procedure. After assessing your case or your child’s case, we will brush on a coating that seals the grooves and pits of your teeth to keep them healthy. The procedure only takes a couple of minutes per tooth and it’s completely painless!
Sealants provide 100% protection and there’s even some research that has proved it actually stops cavities. We offer quality, convenient dental care for your infants, children and teens. Call us now to schedule an appointment for you or your children.
